Default TP gets 3-bet..

UTG just sat down. I don't know who he adjusts to 4-handed play. What's your plan here?

Party Poker 3.00/6.00 Hold'em (4 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG (Poster) checks, 1 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls.

Flop: (6.00 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, SB calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, UTG 3-bets, SB folds, Hero

I would call if a Q hit the river, raise a 10, fold the rest I think. All of this would depend on the river action though. If there was a single bet an whatnot, I might call anyways, but not likely. Most likely UTG has at least trips if not a straight. There are some other possiblities, but I don't think they are likely.

Why would you fold a king, jack, eight, or ace? UTG's range of holdings definitely includes almost any two pair, and the pot will be large enough to call in case you counterfeited him with a board pairing card.

I said why. Most online idiots will put you on AK here. You just got 3-bet on the turn. I think you are drawing very thin a huge % of the time.

No one considers just calling the turn bet?

I think it's a clear call too. If he's betting a worse hand he will usually bet it again on the river, and raising opens you up to a 3-bet when you're behind but have outs. Calling is superstandard.
