WPT -vs- WSOP
WSOP just announced there circuit schedule for next year and they upped the amount to 12 this time. The big thing I noticed is that some of them are held during the same time as some WPT events. Since alot of pros have started following the big buyin (TV) events around, which one will they choose. I could see this becoming a HUGE war between the two groups as to who can attract the most entrys and names. Look at these schedules and compare.
WSOP circuits WPT events These are the ones that overlap WPT Foxwoods Nov.13-16 WSOP Paris/Ballys Vegas Nov.9-22 (The ME's wont overlap for these) WPT World Open Tunica Jan.22-26 (Gold Strike Casino) WSOP Tunica Jan.15-26 (Grand Casino) (WOW! These will be in the same city, same times) WPT Reno Hilton Mar.27-30 WSOP Caesars AC Mar.21-31 |

Re: WPT -vs- WSOP
I suppose that pros that want to play in both of them will buy in to the tourney schelduled first and if they bust they will by into the other one.
If this is true then the WSOP has a slight advantage. |

WSOP Paris/Ballys Vegas Nov.9-22 [/ QUOTE ] The WSOP events seem like they are only going to be held at Harrah's properties. It's interesting that Harrah's, Paris/Bally's, Caersars Palace, and the Rio in Las Vegas all have big poker tournaments yet Wynn isn't on either WSOP or WPT tour. Paris and Caesars Palace don't even have poker rooms. |

It is basically an area next to the lobby that they removed the slot machines from and put some poker tables in. I doubt Paris will put in a poker room. |

Re: WPT -vs- WSOP
also, wouldn't the fact that poker site logos can be worn at the WSOP circuit also be a plus for playing at a WSOP event rather than a WPT event??

Re: WPT -vs- WSOP
are they allowing logos on the wsop-circuit final tables?
if so then this a decent point. |

Re: WPT -vs- WSOP
Still going to be a final table which is televised on TV. Shouldn't make much of a difference, maybe just a bit smaller of fields.

Re: WPT -vs- WSOP
With any luck, the competition will be good for players with WPT and WSOP reducing the juice and improving the tourney structures to attract more players. One can dream anyway.
