What are you worth. Paradise Poker just got bought for $3k per user
if we assume they are growing 20%/year, Paradise just got bought for $2,500 per projected user... this is what you are being valued at in the marketplace... no other point, just FYI Thursday, October 28, 2004 Online Gambling Giant Sportingbet acquires Paradise Poker for $297.5 million... Paradise, which was launched in 1999 and is now the world's No. 3 poker site, has 97,000 active players. |

No question that the market cap of Party Poker and it's related sites would be at least $1.5 Billion. Their growth and likely current cash flow would warrant a huge value. Their business is highly scalable with a ton of operating leverage. If they properly marketed with this world wide it could be an absolutely huge business. They haven't even tapped the market yet.

Re: What are you worth. Paradise Poker just got bought for $3k per us
It is my opinion that the party that sold paradise is probably going to end up being the big winner here. I don't believe investing in poker at this point would be that wise, as it is probably nearing its downswing. Poker cannot continue to grow indefinitely at the rate it has been, and at some point the losers go broke or quit. The online thing may also suffer from maket saturation, and could potentially face legal issues here in the US. And although no one would buy a company to "tie the money" as stated in an earlier post, I think growth will never even come close to projected figures over the course of the next five years. Now for the sake of my poker hobby, I hope the boom continues, but lets be honest folks, it has to die down eventually (I was thinking about this while watching bowling with my pet rock while simultaneously playing pogs and sporting a New Kids on The Block slap bracelet) and it may be sooner rather than later.

I told my mom and she said I'm worth much more than $3,000. She and my dad would pay as much as $10,000 in ransom, she said.
