FWIW, I think flat calling AK and calling my push is way worse than anything I did in this hand. Had you reraised, I would've been gone.

[/ QUOTE ]

I will have to agree with this.

I agree that my play was poor. I still think your push is about as bad, especially given that I should normally be folding here with AK.

maybe I don't know xorbie's play as well as you do but I don't see how any good player calls with AK there unless if he is going by the "my overcall is scarier than an isolation raise" theorem.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was going by the theorem that I was going to fold to a push. Then I was like.. no wait. Ghaz has TT-QQ here so I'm gonna call. It was soooted man.

Button and I both had TT so xorbie was in great shape. However, he failed to hit anything and I made a big pile of money. Had I not pushed preflop, I certainly would've bet him out on the ragged flop (the tens would've been an overpair and the board was rainbow). He's technically better off getting it in preflop as he gets to see all 5 cards that way.

OK so let me make sure I completely understand this hand.

Xorbie should have pushed AK(but called AA or KK).

Since he didn't, and just called, it was bad for Ghaz to push, because he is likely behind to AA or KK?
