Re: Interesting 3/6 hand

But in order to fold a hand where you have 18 to 1 odds you have to be over 90% sure you are beaten. Can you ever be that sure in small stakes hold em? [/ QUOTE ] I worked my way up to the 5/10 game faithfully applying this principle. I wonder if I'll never be good enough to abandon it. |

Re: Interesting 3/6 hand
His play is consistent with QQ, although a lot of tight players will slowplay AQ, AA or KK on the flop and then go nuts even unimproved, they cannot accept that their premium hand can lose. On the river we are ahead of AA, AQ, JJ, TT, behind of KK, QQ, KQ, 99. I'd call getting 18-1.

Re: Interesting 3/6 hand
Your hand range made sense for the MP1, not the SB. What hand does the SB have?

I'm not saying you guys are wrong, but for those that want to call the river, what hand range do you put the SB on? I don't think we're ahead of much. [/ QUOTE ] I think that MP1 probably has AK, and SB hit two pair on the river. He might have hit a set of nines, but... I don't know, seems like a big pot to fold a decent hand. |

Slavic, Shant, could you please elaborate why the fold is better than call here. Every book I've read so far advises to call for one bet in a big pot with a decent hand. Thanks |

Re: Interesting 3/6 hand
SBs stats implies that he's Checkraising you with a better hand like 99% of the time.

Re: Interesting 3/6 hand
I would guess that SB had JTs, flopped a running flush draw, decided to peel because he was closing the action, and got very lucky on the river.
Now, I think check-raising that flop is standard? |

Re: Interesting 3/6 hand
In the heat of battle, you will know that you have to fold there. You're just not mentally putting yourself into the hand, so you think a call is ok.
