Default Online bad beat jackpot tables

I know its -EV to play those since they take out for the jackpot. It has to be VERY high in order to compensate. BUT........

Since the good players know this and don't play it wouldn't the extra fish at these tables make up the difference for the rake?

3/6 full is chalk full of good players. I switched to 3/6 SH because of this. Now add the time of missed hands you do not play when a table fills with sharks and you have to move.

What % of the time are you wasting looking for other ables?
You might make a mistake at one of the open ones?
Now you dont have 4 open (or whatever).

At the jackpot (I am assuming here) the fish just line up like your some ATM machine taking their deposits. You dont have to move.

Something to consider???

I play at the bad beat jackpots tables all the time. There's more fish then at the other tables but I don't understand how it's -EV because of that.

I don't agree with this at all. The compensation comes from people playing 'Jackpot' hands that they normally wouldn't. Chasing JP draws and such, etc..

Jackpot tables promote looser play. Looser play = more money.

They just took the JP drop off a table in my room. I'll be watching to see how many JP players that were playing it will now stop playing it and instead move down a level where the JP drop is still in effect.

I can't remember the link, but somewhere in the stud forum, there is a post called Stud8 math, which points to the homepage of a mathprofessor, that is also a pokerplayer and therefore have made a math and poker sites.

He shows that jackpottables are +EV when the Jackpot is above 160.000$

Thats my point. The jackpot/badbeat whatever tables take extra rake. But more bad players play it. So the extra fish should compensate for the extra rake. I was curious if they compensate enough.

Comparing jackpot tables to tables at Titan, I think you can for sure make more money on party. Flop percentage is significantly higher in Party(30-40%) while titan has a flop percentage of 20-28%.

People play tighter to clear bonuses, while Jackpot tables, people play more to try and hit the jackpot.
