Default $55 - The single dumbest play I\'ve ever made

We were at 5 players for 3 full levels. I had called 1 all-in earlier and got sucked out.

For some reason, I just spaced out and thought that I was guaranteed 3rd place when the short stack posted all-in. I called because I knew that if I lost the hand I would still finish 3rd and that if I doubled up, I'd be in good shape to win... ????? I have no idea why I thought this. Needless to say, I had to take a break after this to regroup.

Feel free to laugh it up.

That was an expensive mistake. Suck it up, don't let it happen again. While this hurts, I bet it'll increase your focus on the bubble for a while to come, and might even make up for the loss.

Yeah right.

I don't think this is that terrible. In fact, I think I might do this as well. You got very unlucky that shortie beat you both and big stack beat you. Oh well.

Looking at it more, I'm not sure I do it too. He's so short that he needs to double up a couple times to worry me. That being said, it still isn't the worst move you've ever made, trust me.

Any play which makes it more likely that Trymebizatch bubbles automatically gets my Gold Seal of Approval.

Btw, are you sure this is such a terrible play? I realize the outcome was super-frustrating, buuuut...the tighter UTG's range, the lower the chance that BB beats you both....the looser UTG's range, the more your call decreases the chance of BB surviving...

If someone has a supercomputer that can do the calculations faster than the 5 hours it would take Pokerstove on my laptop, I would love to see the results.
