You saying it\'s secret, but you ain\'t gotta keep it on the low
Haven't posted a hand in a while, so here is one Im not real happy with. Home $6-$12 game...It's a pretty good. Eight handed at the moment.
I'm in the big blind. Speedy Gonzalez raising under the gun. Defend at all costs (DAAC) calls in the small blind. I find A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the Big Blind. I contemplate raising, since I feel pretty good about my hand, but just call. The flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] DAAC checks, I check, and Speedy checks. The turn is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] DAAC bets out, I raise, Speedy goes, DAAC thinks and re-raises, I call. River is some blank, I call. Comments on all streets appreciated. -Huh |

Re: You saying it\'s secret, but you ain\'t gotta keep it on the low
I like calling the turn and raising the river here, for two reasons:
1) You'll probably get an overcall on the turn from Speedy (what do you mean by Speedy, btw -- LAG?), who I'm guessing has either two big cards (KQ/KJs) or a middling pocket pair. At best he has two outs against you, so let him incorrectly chase. 2) You're less likely to be three-bet on the river by some hands that you are behind that would three-bet the turn. -- Homer |

Re: You saying it\'s secret, but you ain\'t gotta keep it on the low
I really like this advice....The fact that this didn't occur to me bugs me now...lol. Speedy wasn't exactly a LAG, but he was just speedy. Raising AT and KJ early...Raising virtually anything on the button (and showing). I get a fair amount of respect in this game and as a result I think my blinds are attacked a bit more regularly...Probably a good reason to three bet.
