Default Vegas regulars: Parking on strip, weekend night

I'll be in Vegas this weekend, staying downtown (at the Horseshoe). I have work stuff during the days and hopefully poker at night. What's the best way to get from the hotel to the Bellagio and/or Mirage for poker? I have a car, so if the answer is drive, where should I park?

Thanks,
DeathDonkey

Valet, it's the way to go. If valet is full, self parking is free, but I rarely do that. Once you're parked you can walk between the casinos, so no need to move.

I have friends who don't drive in Vegas. I always have a car. I refuse to pay for a cab ride the same amount I'm paying for a full day for a rental car. Getting around there is no harder than getting around any large city, and the parking is much, much easier.

Regards,

T

Thanks for the info. Is there a way into the Bellagio self parking (is it a parking garage?) so I don't have to drive on the strip? I figure if I can avoid that its really not much of a problem.

Thanks again,
DeathDonkey

No. The bellagio is harder to get to than Mirage. Mirage you can get off I-15 at watchamacalit - spring mountain I think- and make a right turn into self parking and not go on the strip. Self parking at mirage is easy. Bellagio you have to go on the strip for either I think. There used to be parking on the north side, but they closed that. I'm not a local but I drive there when I go usually. You can also avoid I-15 but I can't give very good directions for that. IMO mirage is the easiest, but bellagio isn't all that bad. You just want to make a right onto the strip from flamingo if possible.

If going to the bellagio I always park at the aladdin and walk. It is not a bad walk and much easier and also a poker room there to check out. The garage at the bellagio on a weekend is terrible to get into since they check every car and is very slow. The aladdin garage is by the desert passage in the back and prevents me from hitting the strip.

The garage at the mirage is much easier to get into .

There is a MUCH easier way .... From I-15 go East toward the Strip. When you get to the Bellagio North Entrance, off Flamingo, pull in for North Valet Parking, stay to the right when going up the driveway.

You then enter the Hotel on the North (Flamingo) side as the poker room, or temporary poker pit or whatever they call it these days.

I will try that next time. I used to like the north lot.

Driving on the strip on the weekend is a biatch, last weekend it took me 45 mins to make a 2 min drive, take the freeway to the closest exit of the bellagio/mirage or wherever u wanna play, u can park there use valet and tip them a buck or two or use self park, both have parking garages
