Default Slow play AA & you invite tough decisions(low content)

Pokerstars $20 NLHE 180 player sng 3rd hand

Not a lot of Poker content analsis here since it's either fold or call but this slow play of AA got me into quite a bind. I'm interested if I did the right thing so I did a poll. Also interested in your reasoning so feel free to post them.

call. i think something like 66-QQ are more likely than a K.

i voted call. i just cant imagine why trip kings wouldnt check the turn (to be fair, maybe its because he thinks he'll get called by AA-JJ). i mean, i know fastplaying is the new slowplaying... i dunno.

the trick here is to call and river an ace.

I call and expect to see Ak or KQ. This is a new crave that is starting with people. They feel your strong from your re-raise and bets so they feel that you'll instacall their top set.

I fold. I think MANY more times than not, you get shown a hand like a low set, a Kx, etc. I suppose QQ through TT are possible.

Also, these 180 sng's are SO soft, that I think you can pass a close (If you would call this close) edge early.

I don't see how both of these are true.

Well I usually don't play AA slow after the Flop. After all, it's really just one pair, that's all it is, one pair so it's no lock to hold up. But this flop looked so non threatening 54K rainbow that I decided to just call and try to extract more on this early hand.

Well the worst card in the deck came off, another K. In retrospect a Q would have sucked too. But I asked myself if I would have played AK or KQ like that and I wouldn't have.

But as one of the other posters pointed out, all-in is the new slow play. I've seen more nut or near nut hands go all-in lately than ever before. So I called and really felt like a fish for calling because if I'm honest I'm not sure if it was 50/50 that I thought I was ahead but like a fish, I couldn't release AA.

Got lucky though. The guy had AJ offsuit. No pair, no draw.

If you would fold AA here, I like villian's turn play (but you didn't ).

I'm very pleased with the results of this poll. When it happened it felt like a real tough decision and judging by 18 votes for Call and 18 votes for Fold, I would say that 2+2 agrees.

Not sure if I smooth call the flop again anytime soon.
