Re: Nutrition supplements?
Are you trying to lose weight or bulk up? You can only bulk OR cut, you can't really do both effectively at the same time. I would suggest you go for the cutting first if you're overweight as that will make you look much better than adding muscle. However you'll still want to do some weightlifting so that your muscles don't waste away either.
Protein powder/meal replacement bars are good if you're not getting enough protein. If you're trying to lose weight then you're probably eating much more protein than you really need. Replace some of those calories with fat and complex carbs (What is your protein/carb/fat split?) Creatine is good but not necessary if you're trying to lose weight. Once you're happy with where your body fat is at then you can use creatine and all that protein to bulk up, which will cause you to also gain a little fat. Once you bulk up then you go back to weight loss only this time you'll only have a couple % body fat to lose and your muscles won't degenerate that much while you're doing it. |

Re: Nutrition supplements?
I think you are missing one of the most important supplements for someone working out, a multi-vitamin pack.

Re: Nutrition supplements?
At various times I have taken: creatine, hydroxycut, CLA, various protein powders. The only thing I take right now is a multi vitamin.

Re: Nutrition supplements?
I've taken Hydergine, which I really liked a lot, Lucidril, Vinpocetine, and Piracetam. Lucidril and Hydergine definitely had a strong effect on my mental clarity and memory. I recently started taking Vinpocetine and Lucidril again, and again noticed an immediate strong positive mental effect. It definitely made a clear difference.
I've taken Choline chloride on and off, but with fair consistency, for years now. It's cheap and very effective. I've done the same for zinc and selenium, and I've almost always been taking one-a-day type vitamins or higher-dose supplements of B-vitamins, beta carotene, a lot of Vitamin C, and sylmarin(milk thistle). I'm upping my supplement intake again, including Alpha Lipoic Acid, Omega 3 fatty acids, ginkgo biloba, CoQ10, and calcium. And re-including Vinpocetine and L-Arginine, which I used to take occasionally also. I've also ordered some CLA, N-Acetyl Cysteine, and Acetyl L-Carnitine Arginate. If I can get some Piracetam and Hydergine again, I will, but the outlook on that is rather poor, as last time I had to get them from Mexico, and I'm not in contact with the person who got that for me before. Right now, I still have some Piracetam and Lucidril from a while back, but that's going to run out soon. |

Re: Nutrition supplements?
Creatine with gatorade/powerade.
Eating balanced protein/carb meals throughout the day are still key to muscle gaining. And if you don't get enough rest, all the supplements, food in the world won't do you no good. Lawrence |
