Bad Luck or Bad Play
97 players left in 25k Party $10 rebuy event. I am on the button with around 52000 left. I am second shortest stack.
Blinds are 4000/8000 with ante. All fold to me and I push with A3. Big blind of course calls with AK and no help for me. Comments appreciated. Bruce

Bad luck. (In my opinion)
You're second shortest stack. All fold. 1v1. You have an A. The time is right. You don't want to mess calling with a marginal A esp with an evil flop. You could wait for better cards, but the 1v1 situation is ideal now. Tough luck. But good play. Just my opinion. I'd be interested to hear other opinions too...

I think it is automatic. I would have done it with any two cards. This is most likely your last chance to have any folding equity. You cant ask for a better spot than this to get your chips in. The Ace is just a bonus. Tough one

I think those are 2 key factors - I like the play, but if you don't think he will fold, your at most a small favorite, possibly a big dog. Even against a marginal 97s - your not that far in front right now. I'd be leary of doing this against a big, big stack, or someone where you don't have much fold equity. Also- in the last few orbits, have you tried to steal before?

BB called me w/ A3 and I am gone. Thats how it goes.
