Default Those tricksy Jacks, fold preflop?

I know that sounds horribly weak tight, but if I'm not willing to continue facing a raise of my flop bet, its the same as playing with any two.

Blinds 10/20, buyin 35+3.50

UTG [2500] raises to 120
UTG+1 [1700] calls
NonHeroicSB [2900] calls w/ JJ
BB folds

FLOP: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
pot: 350

HERO bets 270
UTG raises to 650

hero???

dude. what kind of flop were you looking for?

I like leading into him, because it's gonna make him raise, just like it did. He raises with a lot here, 88+, just overcards, flushdraws, get the money in there.

ya I agree here, you got the flop that you wanted, JJ is a strong hand, can't always be afraid of the worst, go to the felt.

what about c/ring the flop?

you guys are deep enough to do this and fold to a 3bet.

i dont really like the idea of blindly 3bet pushing an UTG raiser here.

btw dont ever fold here preflop. raise sometimes, but i think the call is ok too.

raising Jacks has its advantages because you can "root" out the big pairs if you do so (he'll probably raise your raise holding a big one), that's a good advantage to avoid these ty pe of low flop decisions with a better idea of where you're at.

So if he pushes to your reraise you fold? I guess the problem was that I really had no idea if he had QQ+ or AK, AQ. Aren't a fair amount of opponents going to push AK, AQ to a reraise?

What range do you put an UTG raiser on? It was the first raise I saw him make.
