PDAs and notetaking

Recently at a MTT in Ireland I noticed a guy with a PDA taking notes throught the tournament. Does anybody else do this and what would be the position of cardrooms stateside with regards to legality?

Note taking is generally permitted (I have never seen it not permitted). Many cardrooms, however, will not allow any electronic device (including PDA/cell phone) at the table. In my experience, Las Vegas is generally more liberal than the east coast in this regard.

Interesting. I never knew that I was actually allowed to take notes AT the table. I will have to keep that in mind.
