Re: K7s blind steal
[ QUOTE ]
River bet would also be good. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not so sure. What does Villain call that Hero beats? Ace high? A worse 7? I prefer flop raise, bet/fold turn, check behind/call river. |

Re: K7s blind steal
What if you're c/r'd on the turn? Call down?

Re: K7s blind steal

On the flop I was just peeling one off since the pot odds were nice [/ QUOTE ] If that means that you were going to fold the turn unimproved if he had bet, then there is a mistake more against most players. |

Re: K7s blind steal
[ QUOTE ]
I like smooth calling the flop, if he bets again you can raise (folding to a 3-bet), and check behind on the river. Since he didn't bet, you should. ni han [/ QUOTE ] if you're going to fold to a 3-bet, it's better to just raise the flop. you're just unnecessarily folding a 5 outer. I also don't know how much I like taking the free showdown. on one hand, he might pay off with A high, but on the other, you'll really feel like you overplayed it if he turns over QQ. I think a call flop, raise turn, check river line, calling a turn 3-bet and subsequently usually calling a river bet is the way to go |

I think a call flop, raise turn, check river line, calling a turn 3-bet and subsequently usually calling a river bet is the way to go [/ QUOTE ] I'm not so keen on raising the turn and calling down from a 3-bet. That's getting to be pretty damned expensive, and not really +EV IMO except against an opponent who is described as very aggressive. The ways I'd usually play this: 1) Call down, bet any street when checked to, fold to check-raise. 2) Raise flop, call down if 3-bet. I don't mind putting 3 bets in on the *cheap* street nearly as much as I do on the expensive street, especially since your opponent is more likely to play back at you. 3) Call flop, raise a turn blank, fold to a 3-bet. Feel out whether to bet the river based on card texture. Note: this line is most useful against someone who is capable of folding something like 99 on the right day. |
