Don't try this in the US. Unlike the UK, using a computer in a casino to predict outcomes is illegal in every state with casinos in the US. In Nevada, it's a felony.

FWIW, the cell phone communicated with an offsite computer. Of course the cell phone had a microprocessor, but all it did was transmitt info, not calculate. I also think it bad public policy for the gov to protect casinos from their own stupidity. Unless a player is actually altering the outcome of a gambling game whatever they are doing is fair. |

Most casinos kick out BJ card counters with very little evidence. They certainly wouldn't allow this, or think it was "fair". It is quite illegal. |
