Don't try this in the US. Unlike the UK, using a computer in a casino to predict outcomes is illegal in every state with casinos in the US. In Nevada, it's a felony.

FWIW, the cell phone communicated with an offsite computer. Of course the cell phone had a microprocessor, but all it did was transmitt info, not calculate.

I also think it bad public policy for the gov to protect casinos from their own stupidity. Unless a player is actually altering the outcome of a gambling game whatever they are doing is fair.

They are altering the outcome of how much they win.

Most casinos kick out BJ card counters with very little evidence. They certainly wouldn't allow this, or think it was "fair".

It is quite illegal.
