Like I told you in the psychology forum, I was there this past weekend. I did not sit any of the limit games, just b/c the 1/2 NL was so nice. Downtown, the games at both the Plaza and the Golden Nugget were very nice. On the strip, the game at Harrah's was pretty good. I was limited on my play time cause I was actually working while I was there. I had to sneak off on my off time. If you are sitting even or down after 2 hours or so, move on to the next casino, b/c there is PLENTY of action out there. Probably the best heads up I got was from www.allvegaspoker.com This has pretty good reviews on all of the casinos on the strip and downtown.

I try to make it down to Mandalay Bay to play some poker at least once every time I am in Vegas. The 4-8 game is a great money maker if you get a table that isn't full of locals.

I have seen more people there that are just learning or have absolutly no idea how to play poker. Questions like "How many cards do you need for a straight?" are not uncommon. It can be a bit frustrating when the new players don't know the mechanics of the game (blind posting, raising, etc.) but I just use that time to stack my chips I won from the previous hand and it doesn't bother me as much.

They do have some weird rules such as if you move chips past your cards in any way it is considered a bet. It took me a couple orbits to break this habit and it takes some getting used to.

Most places have that rule but rarely enforce it. It prevents someone from getting a read on you before they've committed to the bet.

Will be at Mandalay Bay starting tomorrow as well... look for the 3 guys from Tampa grinding the no limit cash games. Did I mention I'm getting nothing done at work today either?

Got a friend who went to Vegas to deal the WSOP, and stayed out there to live. He says the MGM is the fishiest game in town right now, so we're hitting that up as well.

I lived in Tampa for over 15 years. I will definitely look for you guys. I will be wearing my "Hot Sauce" shirt tomorrow night. (If you see it, you won't miss it).
