Re: Is it Possible I\'m Ahead Here?
[ QUOTE ]
I don't see the point of raising this flop. [/ QUOTE ] I am usually in the camp of "raising with overcards when donked is overused" but there are lots of hands the limper could have that we would not mind getting out. Would any of you have called two cold on the flop with T9? Anyway, in this spot I don't hate a flop raise nearly as much as you guys seem to. But I flat call here plenty as well. |

Re: Is it Possible I\'m Ahead Here?
[ QUOTE ]
A long time ago, Diablo and I came to the agreement that after showing considerable strength on the flop and turn, the check-raise on the seemingly innocuous river card is almost always ahead of the pair you represent on the flop. Your situation is a little more precarious because you are representing a ten(to most people) and you actually made your hand on the turn, so there is an off-chance he is doing this he is doing this with a worse queen, but I think that is about it. This time, I am pretty sure it's a fold. -James [/ QUOTE ] I have to think hero is representing an overpair here rather than a ten given his preflop action. |

Re: Is it Possible I\'m Ahead Here?
In a made hand vs made hand confrontation, then innocuous cards are certainly a good reason to fold after showing considerable strength.
However, you should always consider the possibility of busted draws that put a little action on the flop, went passive on turn and bluff raised the river. Here 67 is a fairly good postflop candidate, and 67s is playable by many MPs preflop. I understand that a bluff river raise with a missed draw is not a typical play, but it does happen regularly. Besides, the number of made hands that typically raise the river are quite limited. I think it is closer than what you think. |

Re: Is it Possible I\'m Ahead Here?
I am wondering, as part of a balanced river strategy.
What ballpark percentage of the time would you check behind? I say 2 of 10 or so. Thats a guess. |
