Re: 5/10 LO8 -- cap turn with nut straight?
[ QUOTE ]
What about capping the FLOP? Looks right to me. [/ QUOTE ] Benwood - Me too. Good point. (I thought about that when I first read JB's post - but then became pre-occupied with JB's question). Buzz |

Does anyone bet in this spot to try to fold a small flush? It wouldn't have to work too often to be right. [/ QUOTE ] JB - Good idea. Buzz |

Re: 5/10 LO8 -- cap turn with nut straight?
[ QUOTE ]
I must be missing something. What about capping the FLOP? Looks right to me. [/ QUOTE ] I considered it -- the only reason I didn't was that I didn't want the turn checked to me. I wanted UTG to bet so I could raise. Of course, I must have momentarily forgotten I was at Pacific -- I probably could have capped the flop and still been bet into on the turn . |

Does anyone bet in this spot to try to fold a small flush? It wouldn't have to work too often to be right. [/ QUOTE ] Now that I think about it, betting the river after getting checked to in this situation is looking more and more like the right move. In addition to the small chance it folds a weak flush there is also a small chance someone folds the straight and I scoop or get 1/2 a pot where I would have split or got 1/3. The pot is big enough that I think this is a good play even if it fails 80-90% of the time. |
