Default Cincy-area card room info

How is it? Thinking about making a trip to The Argosa and/or Belterra at some point. I like NLHE and prefer low max buy-ins. Worth a trip? What can I expect?

Argosy does not have a poker-room.

The Grand Victoria is about another 20-30 mins past the Argosy and they have a small but decent room according to all reports here.

The Belterra is even further down the road but their new room is supposed to be fairly good I believe.

Don't know where your best chance for low stakes NL is though. Just don't stop by the Argosy unless you're in a blackjack mood.

Belterra has a NL game with a $400 max buyin but somehow thousands of dollars get on the table. It is either super fishy and they are winning those giant stacks or chips are hopping up on the table under their own power.

I haven't been to the Grand Vitoria since Belterra opened their room.

Take the extra drive time and go to Belterra.

Without question, Belterra's poker room is the place to go. Grand Vic's is just simply not a good room for so many reasons:

- It's not in an area by itself, it's in one corner of their gaming area with a partition to separate it from the rest of the floor/slots. I like the idea of being separated from the rest of the casino.
- They don't offer as much variety in their games. The several times I have been there, the minimum you could play was 5-10. At Belterra, you can play 2-4, 3-6, 4-8 and - as Steamboatin talked about - No Limit.
- The room isn't nearly as nice as Belterra. At Belterra, the tables are clean, the chairs are more comfortable and they have nice tv's on the walls at various spots so you can keep up with sports stuff.
- Maybe just me...but the clientele at Grand Vic is not so good. Lot's of white trash, crackheads, losers, mouthy punks and Middletown (Oh.) poker room trash.

Do yourself a favor...take the extra time to go to Belterra. You won't regret it one bit...
