Badly misplayed set - This needs to be a stop n go right?
If not a 3 bet flop and lead...A is going to lock up J's and less aggro flush draws, and if someone has aces up, I'll get raised and get to 3-bet right?

I cringed at your lack of flop 3-bet. I think you always need to fastplay a set on a drawy board OOP, especially in a multiway pot.
Seeing that you didn't 3-bet the flop, you must lead this turn and hope it gets raised. No way do I check here. |

I think you want to have aggressive players, or your set is not getting enough implied odds to play for it.

I think you want to have aggressive players, or your set is not getting enough implied odds to play for it. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure if my thinking is flawed, but when faced with a small pair in the CO/MP after a limper, I want the following situations: 1) A limpfest, where 4-5 people see the flop. I'm pretty sure I can make up the implied odds in this situation, so a passive bunch of fish is OK here. 2) A 4-5 person flop where an aggressive player has raised PF. Those 2 situations are fairly likely at a loose-passive table or a table that's loose with 1 aggressive player. What I don't want is: 1) A raised pot versus 2 opponents. I think this is more likely versus 2 or more aggressive opponents. Even then, I think I can win enough with pair value in a 3-way pot that I can break even with my smallish PP. |
