99 in SB, 25-50 5 max.
Ridiculously aggressive game, pretty tough to get anyone to fold anything so a lot of suckouts are happening. Preflop I'd usually 3 bet this but I wanted to have a look at the flop first, and with everyone in already I didn't want to give them more reason to chase.
I'd planned on checkraising the flop but it didn't work. Seat 2: jonR ($6,155 in chips) Seat 3: reztes757 ($1,944 in chips) Seat 5: MICMAN ($2,990 in chips) Seat 7: all_aces [9S,9D] ($2,532 in chips) Seat 9: Big Canon ($995 in chips) (MICMAN is the dealer) (Small blind posted by all_aces, big blind by Big Canon) PRE-FLOP all_aces posts blind, Big Canon posts blind, jonR raises, reztes757 calls, MICMAN calls, all_aces calls, Big Canon calls. FLOP [board cards: 4D, 4H, 3C] all_aces checks, Big Canon checks, jonR checks, reztes757 checks, MICMAN checks. TURN [board cards: 4D, 4H, 3C, 8C] all_aces bets, Big Canon raises, jonR folds, reztes757 folds, MICMAN folds, all_aces raises, Big Canon calls. RIVER [board cards: 4D, 4H, 3C, 8C, KS] all_aces bets, Big Canon calls. SHOWDOWN all_aces shows [9S,9D] Big Canon folds [AC,QD] SUMMARY Pot: $648 | Rake: $2 all_aces bets $250, collects $648, net $398 jonR loses $50 Big Canon loses $250 MICMAN loses $50 reztes757 loses $50 Comments appreciated. |

Re: 99 in SB, 25-50 5 max.
Seems perfect to me assuming your read that the game is "ridiculously aggressive" is correct. It's a shame the flop check raise missed.
I don't know how you were thinking you could play it differently other than maybe trying a check raise on the turn, but that's ify. As for the preflop call, 99 is good against 2 or less opponents, or 4 or more, but 3 is a nightmare. I don't think a value raise here is worth it at all. |

Re: 99 in SB, 25-50 5 max.
my comment is that the small blind sucks
i think you played it well - with all the money in the pot overcards will call the flop for 1 bet so 2 bets is far better if possible stripsqueez - chickenhawk |

Re: 99 in SB, 25-50 5 max.
Thanks for the replies. The small blind played this in a unique way, let's just say. I'm a big fan of the fact that people were calling me down with ace high, even after a turn 3-bet. Guess I had them guessing...
I'm losing sight of what hands to post here lol. Like what's interesting and what's not. I mean that 99 hand was interesting, but I don't know. Just like a young man coming in for a quickie. I feel so, unsatisfied. Next time I'll post a big hand that I lost and played poorly. That will be interesting. Thanks for the feedback, and for not calling me a hyper-aggro. Regards, all_aces |

99 is good in a lot of scenarios. Its at its worst four handed and five handed IMO. In good shape 3 and less and six and more.

You think: 99 vs. 2 opponents: good 99 vs. 4 opponents: good 99 vs. 3 opponents: nightmare The difference is not even close to as big as you make it out to be. |

[/ QUOTE ] Thank you to somebody with more credibility than me for pointing this out. I can absolutely understand the intuition behind the argument, but the difference is negligible, EV wise. I would find it very pleasing to find 99 in my big blind against any number of opponents. |

The difference is not even close to as big as you make it out to be. [/ QUOTE ] I guess I used a very poor choice of words. Still, I don't think there's enough value to raise it out of position on this hand. |
