Shut down all unknown processes not being used by LOCAL SERVICE, SYSTEM, or NETWORK SERVICE. That is to say if something is being run by your own account that you didn't initiate nor know what it is, you can pretty safely close it.
Additionally, you could go into task manager, right click, and set the partypoker.exe value to something higher than normal. |

Since technology has moved so fast and so few people have a good understanding of computer mechanics at the command prompt level, I highly doubt 95-99% of users could configure fdisk or disk druid since they are so used to bootable CD-ROMs and other whiz-bang inventions of this century! |

I have a brand new computer with 50 processes running. Hmmmmm............. most of them are SYSTEM, good thing I have lots 'o ram.
