Default Wtf\'s up with all these sites asking for ssn now?

Not sure whether to post this is sportsbetting or here, but I have noticed some casinos asking this so I'll just ask here. I have been now asked by Carib Sports, SIA and Classic Casino for my SSN. Nobody actually puts in their real number do they? Is there any danger in just giving them a fake one? They want it for a cashout at SIA (after I made my 1st one w/o it, bastards!). I have already declined a bonus at one place en lieu of giving them one. This time I need my $. No way I'm giving them my real #. Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

IMO this is a gross invasion of privacy and whoever's idea this is has no concept of the potential of ID fraud or they want to try to weasel out of paying.

I would give them your social off by 1 number and remember what it is for future reference.
