Default An ethics question

I am playing a great 6 handed 100/200 nl game on Prima. There is one really weak player (giannako). A day earlier, I saw him call a pot size river bet with 22 on an 88774 board, show his hand, and then type in the chat "I didn't think you had the 8". He has probably dropped at least $50k in the past two days. Anyway, he runs ridiculously well and leaves with about $25k. The game immediately breaks up. He then sits down on a HU 50/100 table with Zweig. He definitely doesn't know who that is.

Is it OK for me to ask giannako to play me HU?

If you think it isn't, would you still do it for a great chance at a $20k+ score?

What could possibly be unethical about challenging someone to a heads up match?

I would ask him immediately if I were you.

You are not going into Zweig's own house, interrupting his own house game and asking his opponent to come over to your house to play HU are you? No. You are entering a public table. This isn't Zweig's game. It's not his opponent. Do what you gotta do.

btw...is this your first stab at 50/100 or limits this high?I know your regular game is 5/10.

I would do anything possible (within reason) to get a fish like this to play me HU.

Glad that you guys agree with me. I asked Giannako to play me HU and SR flipped out. I told him I liked his 'flow' and left.

I get REALLY pissed when people do that to me. I am playing some hu game vs a fish, and some a-hole comes in and challenges him to a different hu match. Not very nice, imo.

Obviously SR is going to be annoyed....Why wouldn't he be? How would you react if SR came along and tried to get giannako to stop playing you and play him??

That said, there are really no rules in poker, so do whatever you like, but you shouldn't be surprised if someone gets mad....It's got to be frustrating to the person whose action you are killing.....
