Very nice. I'm not sure how I feel about the red string-like rope around the outside of the wood. Still a nice table.

There was a gap between the insert and the "racetrack" because we had to router it twice and it was twice as thick. I like the rope, I think it gives it a nice detail.

What material did you use for the outer edge padding? I'm thinking about putting one together, and, material-wise, that's what I'm having the most trouble locating.

Nicely done!! Maybe someday I'll give it a try.
What did you do for legs? I assume it's free standing as opposed to being made as a cover for a dinner table.
Did you go with a pre-fab rail? Looks good.

we followed the plans from here


in short, it's a banquet table with a couple sheets of high grade plywood bolted to it.
the hardest part is making the racetrack cuts.

The table looks good! I like the rope, I had a similar problem but used rope lighting instead.
