Default Pocket Eights Short Stacked in BB with lots of limpers

My first post here so I hope it's appropriate.

No-limit Texas Hold'em $10+$1
103 Entrants - Top 10 Money - 34 Left - Blinds 100/200

No special reads on individuals, table is not so much aggressive or tight, as just dumb, making (imo) way too many calls. This hand is unusual in that never had so many people seen a flop before and there was no pf raise. Not much real blind stealing as almost every pf raise got a call. A typical hand would be someone min raising from ep or mp and getting one or two callers. (Although I must be exagerating. I'm just mad cuz one hand an ATo raised my 3X EP raise, and called my allin reraise, outdrawing my AKs.)

Seat 1: $3,505 in chips)
Seat 2: $3,991 in chips)
Seat 3: $10,708 in chips)
Seat 4: $11,086 in chips)
Seat 5: $6,840 in chips)
Seat 6: $2,404 in chips)
Seat 7: $6,456 in chips)
Seat 9: $4,827 in chips)
Seat 10:[8D,8S] ($1,550 in chips)

ANTES/BLINDS
Seat 9 posts blind ($100), Seat 10 posts blind ($200).

PRE-FLOP
Seat 1 folds, Seat 2 folds, Seat 3 calls $200, Seat 4 calls $200, Seat 5 calls $200, Seat 6 calls $200, Seat 7 folds, Seat 9 calls $100, Seat 10 ???

I think this is a great spot to push and you definitly have enough behind you to make people fold whatever junk they have been limping around with. A call might not ever be such a bad thing if its a race and you happen to win. If you pick up the dead money in the pot that is also a great result. If I saw it correctly you would be making it 1350 as your all-in bet and although you may get called at this point in the tournament you need to double up anyways. From your HH I believe this is PR and knowing the structure there very well I know this level is just after the first break. In my opinion, this is really a great spot to get all your money in. If someone limped with a bigger hand...eh...jump into the next tournament, you need to make you move anyways. GL

This is definitely a great spot to push given the fact that you will double up if everyone folds to you, and if you actually do get a caller you will probably be ahead which will mean even more money.

Thank you all for the confirmation. I did push, and was called by ONLY two players, one with 44 and one with K7s, and my eights held up. (of course, a little later I went out in 15th when my AKs lost to the ATo).

So what's your problem? Are you feeling guilty that you took their chips?

Well, it's just that the EV+ is unlimited if I check, right? Whereas I knew at least one person was going to call and I wouldn't have been surprised to see three or more call. And the downside there is I could be out of the tournament not too terribly far from the money.

I figured no one had a top pair but 99 or TT was possible, a lower pair or two was likely, and a bunch of overcards were likely. I didn't want to get called by A9s, KQo, and JTs; instead I did get called by 44 and K7s.

With no risk to check, I wasn't sure if a case could be made for it. (And this was my first post in the MTT forum so I didn't want to risk looking any dumber than I already do. Whoops, blew that.)
