Default my list of beginner\'s leaks

About six months ago, I created a thread mentioning leaks in my game I had already found, and asking others to predict what leak I'd find next. I thought it might be useful for those just starting six-max to see the list. I should also add that, while some mistakes have pretty much been eliminated, I continue to make others, proving that in this game, we often have to keep relearning the same damn lessons.

My list was as follows:

1. Over-limping with Ax;
2. Folding too much at river;
3. Missing river bets;
4. Folding to steal attempts by small blind too often;
5. Calling, rather than reraising, with solid starting hands in the blinds;
6. Limping, rather than three-betting, with medium pairs;
7. Always betting out with decent hand, rather than occasionally check/raising.
8. Only folding/raising AK on flop to a lead bet by someone in earlier position, rather than consider calling sometimes.
9. Stealing too rarely.

To this list, a few people added the following:

10. Not keeping the lead on the turn.
11. Not 3-betting enough for value on turn and river (though some one disputed this).
12. Check/folding on river when I think I'm beat but have some kind of hand, rather than betting with plan to fold to a raise (though some one took issue with this one, and rightly pointed out that chec/call is better than c/f).
13. Not taking position into enough consideration, even though I thought I did.

As before, I encourage anyone to add to this list any mistakes commonly made by relative beginners, which I still consider myself to be.

1)not being selective enough with tables and seated positions at a table
2)Auto betting missed flops when first going from alot of limping pre flop to mostly raising.
3)Not playing the player enough.
4)Not folding pocket pairs enough
5)Misplaying overcards
6)To tight in the big blind

- Not protecting your hand in large multiway pot
- Not capping your big draws on the flop for value (this also applies to the turn if there are enough people in the pot to call you and its likely they'll call your raises or cap)
- Inducing bluffs and then folding to them

-Not respecting and responding properly when faced with turn aggression from passive players

...or from sane players in a protected pot with no obvious draws out there.

- Taking the initiative instead of letting people bluff off their money.

first time i played limit holdem i figured any A or K was good to play from anywhere for almost any amount - that went for about 4-5 hours then i dropped the ones with a crappy kicker - A10o was still gold though

i've had lessons since then but i dont remember them all that well - i'll go with 9 - if your not stealing then your probably not thinking about stealing and if your not thinking about stealing your not thinking enough

i do great lazy

That doesnt make any sense to me. Do you mean three-betting instead of cold calling a raise? or raising instead of limping? or both?

I think what I was referring at the time of this post was a initial tendency to cc raises with medium pairs, rather than 3-betting them.
