UTG is 36/0/0.8

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB folds, UTG calls, Button folds.

Turn: (3 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

How do I get this to showdown against this guy?

Easy bet. Why are u so affraid of a 7 already? He could have lots of stuff you don't have to worry about. Once this guy raises you call down, since you got 4 outs for a boat and 2 outs to make it a split pot.

I am afraid because he will only raise when he has me beat and I have to call the raise. If he doesnt have the straight, he will fold most of the time. IŽd like to see the river cheaper but I agree its stupid not to beat.

bet, call a raise, call a river bet. if he calls the turn, bet the river, maybe check a heart, but its close.

Although I hate folding 2pair this is probably the best line. I m pretty sure he wont raise me without the straight and I dont have the odds to fill up.
That was my problem, I have to fold to a raise and I really want to show this down, so it makes me not want to bet. But you really gotta do it here.
I think you guys who call down to a raise are paying too much.
