They couldn't have possibly been more vague about what the law actually is on this. It seems like any time any one of these evening news magazines focuses on anything I know a lot about, they screw it all up.

It was pretty much a waste of time for me to watch it but I did.

While I was watching, and waiting on something interesting, I couldn't help but think, "Nobody connected with this program has heard of 2+2."

And now that I read what I just typed I'm asking myself, "Was/Is that a good thing? Would they have done a better, from my POV, program? Would they have even understood anything they read around here?"

It would have been fine if they would have said something more along the lines of "it's boarderline if it's illegal or not and nobody has ever been prosecuted for it" instead of "It's illegal for sure how come nobody is doing anything."

Nobody is doing anything because of what the guy responded with...there are just more important things to deal with...as well as the laws being so vague.

I can't believe CBS declaired it clearly illegal, as if there was no doubt. Bad journalism imo.

This was pretty terrible stuff. 60 minutes has really started airing some poor programs. Aside from the legal issues regarding the differences between runnning a gambling site and being a gamble on that particular site, why are these journalists so opinionated? Should they really express value judgements such as "gambling is bad" on air? Sorry, she just failed journalism 101. A kid takes his dad's credit card and gambles? woopty do. Kids do many stupid things, this is just one of them.

Oh so they run this story about internet gambling and are basically saying gambling is "bad" and people have problems. OK.

Truly funny thing is, It was 60 minutes who ran a big story about the poker explosion several months ago and had some poker celebrities (Negreanu, J harmon etc) on and they basically glorified the whole thing.

Gee, talk about degenerate, you should see what I do at my dayjob. Thats criminal. lol.
