Betting the turn/checking river VS Chking turn/Calling river cost the same.

i usually bet the turn and chk river when theres a obvious draw on the board, I.e. flush or maybe a straight(to stop free cards and a river raise when outdrawn).

I usally check turn and call river Vs opponents who like to bluff to induce on when i hold an OK hand.

This is something i need to work on and think more about though.

I think you played this fine, What are you concerned about? After he calls turn looks like you're behind but not to a jack... He prob tried to steal and thinks your defending so is calling down.

this hand isn't so bad because i'm not OOP. but my concern is:

even if i'm in position, how likely is he to bluff me on the river (say a scare card comes)?

if i'm OOP, what's to stop him from bluffing me with a worse hand when i check the river?

Nothing, this is why it can induce bluffs... but you gotta have an idea when you can call and fold.

i think this would probably be a fold, But who knows he held. I reckon he had a small piece of the flop though.

Dont you think it would be better to post a hand illustrating this related situation..you can just make one up if you like. Whats the point in posting a hand you know is fine?

standard. NH.

If you're out of position, i usually bet the turn. check/fold or check/call the river...player/board dependent.

Cheers.

everything else is the same, but fine, i guess.

i don't have many hands on these people, so i'm not sure what hypothesis to make early on.
