I'm sure I speak for all red sox fans when I say...

2003 Game 7 ALCS

I'm sure I speak for all yankees fans when I say...

2004 Game 7 ALCS

[/ QUOTE ]
Having never been part of the whole Red Sox-Yankees rivalry thing, is it worse to lose in the ALCS to the other than it is to lose in the World Series? (Say, 2004 ALCS Game 7 vs. 2001 WS Game 7)

[/ QUOTE ]

As a Red Sox fan, losing the 1986 World Series was much worse than losing the 2003 ALCS. Then again, the '86 Series hardened me (and made me a true Red Sox fan).

Any defeat snatched from the jaws of victory hurts. When your team is in the postseason a lot, you end up with exhilirating victories and agonizing defeats. My Yankees gave me the greatest thrill in 1978, when they came from way back in August to win the pennant, and then from 2-0 down in the World Series. And the greatest agonies with the 9th inning loss in 2001 after two back-from-the-dead with 2 outs in the 9th inning wins. And of course the 3-0 collapse against the Sox can never be exceeded--duplicated maybe, but never exceeded.

Philadelphia Flyers - 8 consecutive playoff OT losses between 1995-00'

Philadelphia Flyers - blowing 3-1 lead in conference finals vs Devils in 2000.

Dallas 21, Eagles 20 - 1997, Tom Hutton botches hold on a 21 yd fg attempt at time expires.

More Eagles - NFC Championship 2001, 2002, 2003 - although really only 02' and 03' at home as big favorites hurt bad.

Maryland 20, GT 17 (OT) - 2001, Joe Burns has a fumble returned for a TD, runs out of bounds inexplicably with GT trying to run out the clock with a minute left up 17-14, then fumbles to end the game after Maryland is held to a FG on the first possession of OT.

i remember that that tennesse-buffalo game made me a titan fan. My uncle had taught me football rules( how many points each thing is worth, first downs, etc) when he was watching miami-seatlle. And the other day I saw this dude making a cool TD with 2 seconds left( at that time I didnt know football rules correctly so I found out the play was controversial like 3 years after)I was 11 when I began taking a huge intrest on football. Now I have lost my intrest on football since aparently the titans are " rebuilding", american sports are weak. If you want to " rebuild" in soccer, guess what , u can do ure rebuilding on the bottom division.
