Default A weird limit/NL game full of 2+2ers... FISH HEAVEN!

Anyhoo......

So last night at Commerce a buncha 2+2ers got together for an impromptu game. The lineup:

Clarkmeister
Dynasty
Gabe
mike l. (for a little while)
Ed Miller, who someone told me was a Noted Poker Authority
Ulysses, who everyone had taken to calling 'El Diablo'
Josh W
J.A. Sucker
Glenn

Oh, and me, dubbed Rock 1 by Clarkmeister. Ed was Rock 2. I think Dynasty was Rock 3.

After being at the table for more than 30 minutes, I couldn't spot the sucker... I'm not sure what that means though.

Anyway, at first we were doing just a $100 max buy-in NL game with 2/3 blinds. But the action in that game was.... well, there was none. So we decided to mix it up and make it limit preflop and no limit postflop. This loosened up the table quite nicely!

My question is, how does strategy differ from a normal NL game? Should you start playing more s00ted connectors from any position? I played 4d5d UTG, and I kinda took a biggish pot away from Clarkmeister. Sorry buddy. He was gunning for me the rest of the night. He started to play his starting hands based on SF, or 'Sooga Factor', a quantity he devised based on how likely he thought I was to call preflop. Luckily I got away from that game in one piece.

Hey Sooga,

Nice meeting you last night. The "limit" part of the game was so small that raises meant nothing especially after everyone had over $200. I think I was playing close to half my hands for one, two, or even three bets. Seemed like you did pretty good.

FWIW, the following two-pronged strategy did not work well:

a) Play 100% of hands, regardless of position or raises pre-flop (IMPLIED ODDS!!!!!!!)

b) Run it w/ anyone all-in w/ any pair in an attempt to get a stack big enough to bust Sooga, Glenn and Clark

I somehow managed to escape that game w/ only a $400 loss, well worth it for the great time.

Gabe is wrong. See, there was a max buyin of $100. I routinely had $100 in front of me...not the $200 he speaks of.

Dear Superman,

If you're not going to use that e-ray vision, can I have it.

My question is, how does strategy differ from a normal NL game? Should you start playing more s00ted connectors from any position? I played 4d5d UTG

I've always liked this format. I'd play any hand that could give me the nuts or could flop a monster draw: pairs, suited connectors, Axs etc. I'd also try and build a pot with a raise or two before the flop to have something to fire at. But against this lineup, GL!

(45s UTG is a little iffy, but I'd play 56s hoping to trap an A-little.)

The problem w/ this strategy is that we were playing this for fun w/ capped buyins of $100 (rebuy $100 more if you get to $50 or lower). Even after Josh and I lost about $400 each, that still made the avg. stacks less than $200, so you really couldn't come in with the wide range of hands that you could if you were playing this structure w/ large stacks. Of course, that didn't stop me and Josh from playing every hand for any amount pre-flop. I'm starting to think that it might not be a complete coincidence that:

a) Josh and I drank the most
b) Josh and I played very similar strategies
c) Josh and I lost the most

After writing that last post and thinking about how many buyins occurred among the whole group, I was trying to figure out how come the stacks weren't bigger, which of course is obvious. Boy, the rake in that game sure was a killer.
