Please please please raise the flop! There is no reason to allow people with four outs (gutshot) or five outs (paired the board) to profitably call and catch a card in a big pot.

Not raising the flop here is pretty bad.

This pot is pretty stinkin' huge when it's one bet to you on the flop. Raise already. Whatcha tryin' to do ... bust out the entire table on one hand?

Not a time to slowplay, pronounced even moreso by the fact that you don't hold the Kd.

Default Am i misinterpreting SSH then?

There is a specific hand in SSH where the hand is KK, the pot is raised pf, the flop comes down and someone bets into you. The advice there is to wait for the turn to raise because flush draws, gut-shots and whatever will call even 2 cold and will be almost mathematically correct to do so. Ergo my question is am I misinterpreting that advice. If I am, it is now that I must fix this before I try any kind of a move up in limits.

In that example the pot was so large that weak draws had odds to call the double bet because there was twenty bets already in the pot. The pot in your hand wasn't as big so by raising you are making it where its incorrect for those weak draws to call.

That makes sense. Thanks for clarifiying, I am going to have to pay more attention to pot sizes. And keep studying, I obviously have much to learn.

Default Results

When he/she bet into me on the river, I figured I was beat. When they showed 44, I knew I was beat...
