Vegas 1/27 - 1/30 Rio or Harrah\'s?
I plan on playing in the Bellagio Friday tourney and limits in the 10/20-20/40 range at the Mirage/Bellagio. I've never stayed at the Rio. Any thoughts? Any two plus two'ers going to be around?

Rio has much nicer rooms/cocktail waitresses/clientele but you will need a car/taxi/shuttle to get to the strip.

Rio over Harrah's.
The Friday tourney at Bellagio is tough, not the softest competition in town, by far. If there is no major tourney going on elsewhere, dang, it's really -EV. I would steer clear unless you freeroll into it. Felicia |

I don't think it's -EV or I wouldn't play it, but I certainly know there are better spots to get my money in. |

Re: Vegas 1/27 - 1/30 Rio or Harrah\'s?
Rio is nicer, but........
Harrahs is right across the street from Mirage. It will take you less than ten minutes to get out of your room, on the elevator, through the casino, across the street, into the Mirage, and to the poker room there. I stayed at Harrahs this past weekend and that was my experience. However, bring your earplugs. The midwest ploppies staying at Harrahs are discourtesly noisy at early am hours and so is housecleaning. Also, if you don't like casino food, there is a Chipotle and a Panda express right next door to Harrahs. |

Hey DL
A buddy and I will be in town from the 29th to the 3rd. We will be playing limit at both Mirage and Bellagio, anywhere from 6-12 to 15-30. We get in late Saturday from the East Coast so don't know how much poker we will play, but Sunday we will be hard at it, PM me and we can buy eachother drinks at the table. |

Re: Vegas 1/27 - 1/30 Rio or Harrah\'s?
If you think you might play some lower limit poker where you're staying, then I recommend Harrahs over Rio. Harrahs has a much better poker room in terms of management. Also, as others have mentioned, the location of Harrahs to Bellagio and Mirage would probably be enough to make me want to stay there.
Have you looked into actually staying at Bellagio or Mirage though? Both offer poker player room rates. |

Next to the term "midwest ploppie" in the dictionary appears the picture of Clark Griswold.
Put another way, you will find serious hotties at Flamingo, or even next door at IP, but at Harrahs all you will find is overweight, out of shape, pasty white couples in their 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's. In reference to my comments on the noise level, Vegas to me is an all night city where I say F the day job and I gamble and drink and grope strippers until the wee wee hours. I take particular offense to a-holes who do not understand this and make lots of noise at 6am-12pm when I am fast asleep. |
