Nuita Teitelbaum. Jewish resistance fighter before and during the Warsaw ghetto uprising. The thing that made her a hero was that she had good forged papers and Aryan appearance so she could have had an easy life. She fought because it was the right thing to do. A person who is forced into a corner and reacts well cannot be a hero to nearly the same degree as someone who voluntarily puts herself IN that corner because it is the right thing to do.
She had amazing nerve and carried off a few very gutsy assassinations before the war. |
