Default Keeping a record of wins/losses/hands??

I wondered just how the pro players kept notes on their winnings/losses? Is it simply a matter of writing down how much you r up or down at the end of every hour or do you note every hand and money won/lost?

A _detailed_ example would be very useful, thx

I don;t have a PALM, how would one go about doing it manually or is that just too time consuming?

A notebook in which you note for each session - hours played, money won/lost (and limit), and any notes on particular hands, players,or game conditions you wish to note. If you find it easier you may make specific hand notes periodically throughout a session, but noting every hand is not necessary and probably detrimental in the sense that you should be paying more attention to the game. An entry in mine might look like this:
1/7/03 - Bellagio
+225 8-16 6 hours
-notes here

Hope this helps.

ok but I see 2 problems with this.
1) It doesn;t give you a detailed description of your hourly play (are you making notes about players/dealers/hands during this time as well?)
2) when u actually stop to write notes in your book surely you draw attention to yourself as a serious player? Does this not impact on your hourly rate? (i.e. if tourists see this they will likely stay away from you in hands?)
