Keeping on the topic of rap. Eminem, I hate almost every song he has released. But the rest of music is pretty good.

He's a PERFECT example. He has released some good songs but his first single is ALWAYS horrible. It appeals to the masses though, which is what works.

Too lazy to go back through the replies now, but I got one: Counting Crows.

I am surprised that no one has said this yet, Beck.

I really liked odelay, but found most of the singles not that great. I guess his new album the first single is good. But sea change got absolutely no airplay whatsoever.

Live

Dam at Otter Creek (first track on their first hit album) is awesome... I really wish it got more radio play.

I was going to say the same thing.. even though i don't own their CD..does it count? I think they are funny and it seems like they laugh at themselves when they are playing "soft".

i almost didn't want to get their CD due to all the radio play.. but i would love to see a show! maybe see a bunch of midgets running around..........

The obvious choice is Metallica.

Edit - well the stations here play stuff off Kill Em All, Master of Puppets, and And Justice For All.. so anything off the black album or newer.

I think the Offspring is a great example. I think they're an awesome band, but the radio stuff from Americana basically killed them.

Fountains of Wayne actually isn't that bad, at least in my opinion. I started listening to them well before Stacy's Mom hit the radio and got played every 3 minutes. They've got some good songs. Of course, Stacy's Mom has killed their chances of ever being accepted as a good band.
