Default Ace two.... suited and unsuited

I recently have been having a problem with playing Ace 2 whether it is suited or not. I tend to shy away from it i feel it is a trap hand, confidence of an ace but the lack of strenght with a 2. I know it has a lot power if a flush is made and there is always a straight but you are playing with the low end and a 67 had you beat if you make your 3 4 5 needed. Am i wrong for shyinga way from this hand or should i play it, at least to the flop? any suggestions for playing this hand would be great.
thanks for any comments in advance

Default Re: Ace two.... suited and unsuited

It depends what games you are playing but nearly all the time A2o - A9o are junk. Even AT and AJ shouldnt be played in some spots. A2s - A9s are generally only good in late position in an unraised pot with many limpers, otherwise they are also junk. Again, it really depends on the type of game you are playing, the number of people at the table, the limit, and the skill of your opponents.

If you are unsure how to play these speculative hands I would say fold them all and wait for something better.
