ok... this is one of those plays that I made without really thinking. I was hoping the blind would call. Didn't expect the chipleader to have anything to do with it.

I'm wondering if my push was correct, because with my stack making the money would've been no problem at all. What should my play have been? Thinking back, maybe I shouldve just made a big raise instead of the push, but I'm sure I wouldve went all in on the flop and been called, or reraised all-in preflop.

This is my first hand posted so please bare with me

I don't think a standard 3x re-raise would have been effective. Say you raise to $1500: you're left with $600, harldy enough ammo to push him off of a flop if he were to call. Also, if he reraises all-in, you're committed to call anyway. I don't see just calling as a good option, since you could be scared off the best hand by an A or K. I think you made the right play.

Any read on villain?

With no read, at a $10+1, I'd go all in preflop with AA-QQ any day.

Not to mention there are 4 of them, not 1. There is no guarantee they are all going to bust, much less double each other up. Twice on Sundays @ the 11s.

One thing that pushing achieves here is that it may slow down the big stack and leave you to be the one bullying the small stacks.
