The Math
What He's really asking is this:
EV neutrality => pot equity = pot odds using .75 and .2 for equities vs field and AA: he's paying 340 to play a ~815 pot so 340/815 = 41.7% .417 = (x)(.2) + (1-x)(.75) .417 - .75 = -.55x x = 61% or less he has aces to make the call. given my usual table image, i call this in a heartbeat every time. that said, if he's a solid regular weak/tight 20/4 midwest barry G fan, i lay it down. fim |

Re: Simple KK hand

I've posted several 'educational' posts about this exact same (or similar) situation. Call. Yes, you will be up against AA a solid portion of the time, but this will be long term +EV. I'd bet a house on it. [/ QUOTE ] Depends on the stakes. I'd be a lot more inclined to call at 3/6 than at .5/1. As you get into higher games, you see players start to make moves preflop. I personally don't even try things ilke reraising with 55 unless I think the other players are somewhat near decent, and it doesn't happen at low stakes. I think if you polled the Mid/High forum, you'd see a profit calling with KK, but at the SS forum, you'll see AA more often than anything else. |

Re: Simple KK hand
Fold and wait for a better spot. If villain is decent, he should give you credit for re-raising out of the big blind. I can't see a pre-flop push from villain here w/ QQ or worse. He's probably putting you on a big pair and hoping you can't lay it down.

yeah he may have Aces, but as harrington points out in his book this is only going to happen 1 in 24 times that you have kings, [/ QUOTE ] And if its 6max, it will be 1 in 40 or 41 times (dont remember which) |
