Default Restaurants in the vicinity of Foxwoods

Going up to Foxwoods for the 1st time later this week. Wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations on restaurants in the area, outside the casino.

Thanks for any tips...

Sadly, all I know of is the diner near 395 and the Dunkin Donuts right outside of the casino. There are a couple excellent restaurants inside the casino though.

Yes, very. The Bistro and Cedar Steakhouse are excellent for casual dining, and the Festival Buffet is pretty decent for variety too. There are also a couple "gourmet" restaurants that are decent, but probably not worth the price compared to the others...in addition, I highly recommend the chicken fingers and fries from the snack bar by the poker room (seriously).

Check out the new Hard Rock Cafe, not a bad rendition if you
have ever been...also I second the comment about the chicken
fingers in the Poker Room...HOWEVER they never give me my
sweet and sour sauce when I ask, always ranch! And, by the
way this was the first time they didn't have ANY on President's
Day...George must be rolling in his grave...lol

I freaking love fried chicken in any form...thanks for the tips guys.

Im going up to CT w/ my girlfriend and her mom. They are going to Mystic after they drop me off at Foxwoods. Then were meeting back up for dinner, so that was why I was asking.

Neither of them gamble so I figured we'd eat outside the casino. However, if the food is good inside Foxwoods I can probably convince them to park and come inside.

Agreed - the ranch sucks.

You were there yesterday? Me too. I had a grilled cheese though, lol. What did you play? I had 8 solid hours of cold cards at the $1/$2, barely played any hands. Oh well, can't win them all.

scrub and I ate at a chinese place there that I was pretty happy with. I can't remember the name, it was kinda near whichever one of the hotels we were in (which scrub may be able to remember if he sees this). Pretty good though, and I can't imagine there are too many chinese paces in Foxwoods so it shouldn't be too tough to find.

EDIT: Ugh, I suck. This is in the casino which I guess you didn't want. Still good though, try it.

Randall's Ordinary. It's about 10 minutes from Foxwoods. Very old house (1700s I think). Food was great.

My personal experience is that the food in the Foxwoods restaurants stinks.
