Default Poker in Brazil ?

I may be going to Rio in a few weeks for work ( God I love my job ) and staying for at least a month. I may be doing this several times over the next year or two. I know there will be plenty of things to entertain me However, I also know I will suffer poker widthdrawal at some point and will want to find a game. Anyone know if there are casino's with poker rooms there ? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Default Re: Poker in Brazil ?

Well, here are some leads where i didn't find anything:

http://www.pokerpages.com/directory/index.php3 doesn't have Brasil in its list of countries.

Googling 'poker brasil' (no quotes) doesn't seem helpful, nor does 'poquer brasil'. But I did find this profile supposedly of a rare Brasilian poker pro: http://vip.abril.com.br/aberto/nprazeresint_12155.shtml

Apparently per pt.wikipedia in Brasil some people play with some sort of short deck (at least that's what i infer from "Nos EUA se joga sempre com o baralho completo"), and therefore a flush beats a full house.

Anyway, i'm eager to see if you get a better reply.
