Bonus Whoring for a Bankroll

I am currently working with someone who is just starting out in the game, and I am trying to bring them up to speed as quickly as possible. He has some experience, but needs a lot of work.

Our goal is to get $1000 as quick as possible, and I am wondering what the best approach is for bonus whoring. He has $600 to throw around, and I was thinking of putting him at full tilt for a 100% bonus. I am not sure if the $/hand is the best deal out there though. I imagine that he will be able to play .5/1 for now, but hopefully move up to 1/2 or 2/4 pretty quickly.

Any suggestions for the best approach?
