66 hand...i suck
absolute 3/6 about my 5th hand so no reads.
UTG limps, MP limps...I limp 66 in the CO and the blinds come (so 5 handed). Flop is 952 2spades blinds and UTG check, MP bets...I raise? good? bad? turn is a 3 he checks, I bet he calls and I check a K behind on the river. thoughts? standard? raise pf? |

Re: 66 hand...i suck
On the flop, it really depends on the table context, and whether you think you can get them to fold. Raggy board, it is likely you have the best hand, but surely not if they all stick around for a showdown.
The turn is a good card, so I'd keep it up. K is a bad card, and I might fold right there depending on my opponent. |

Re: 66 hand...i suck
Im saying you have to make a decision whether a raise gives you enough folding equity to push people out of the hand. If you're reads dictate that decision, you played good. Otherwise, you're going to be outdrawn.

Re: 66 hand...i suck
I think raising is better than calling, but my default play here is to fold.
Often the bettor will have a nine. Say half the time? If he has a flush draw it comes in half the time. He might have a nine and someone else a flush draw. Someone might see the turn with bottom pair top kicker A2 and a backdoor flush. They're getting 9:2 to call. Almost enough for 6.5 outs. With implied odds, they can call correctly, I think. There 6 overcards besides a nine to watch out for. Two overcards have 6 outs. Although they should only count them as three and fold, if they have a BD flush also they can probably call correctly. There are three people left to act. A raise will usually knock most out, but it's harder to knock out three than one or two. I just dump it. Is that unwise? If raising is +EV, by how much is it plus? |

Re: 66 hand...i suck
I like, and I play this way as my standard. If the flop had gone bet, call, I probably would fold.

Re: 66 hand...i suck
I play it the same, but I don't enjoy these sorts of hands and allways start thinking I suck too when they show down T9o
If you change a few variable (very passive villain, it went bet-call, nobody folds etc.) I think it can swing to a fold here. |
