Default Rugby

I was at Best Buy today and I saw Rugby 2005 for XBOX. I don't know anything about rugby but it looked like it would be [censored] fun. Has anybody played this? Also, are there any rugby fans out there? It looks like it would be a fun sport to follow.

Big Rugby fan here. All the men in my family play and my cousin just got drafted for one the biggest team in France. Unfortunately it is hard to follow for the US, not much coverage of it. It is a really cool sport and very physical, definitely violent.

I don't follow the sport much, but used to play quite a bit. There aren't many games tougher. There's a saying about it:

Soccer/Baseball/American Football (delete as appropriate) is for boys
Rugby is for men
(and Ice Hockey is for maniacs)

i think it runs on the same engine as FIFA 2005. Saw somthing on G4 the other day where is said it was a bit buggy, but I think they still gave it a 3 out of 5. Go to GameSpot for a good review.

Just to add, Good game to watch, to address your original question!

Also, to show you how tough it is, I played about 100 matches from the age of 12-18, and personally witnessed one thigh-bone breakage (I heard it break!) and one back break (guy took three years to get off crutches, but wasn't paralysed, thankfully).

I also bit my own lip off during a tackle (guy got his shoulder in as I dove to tackle) and knocked all my teeth loose, and was bleeding from my teeth!!! I went into the school to clean up, and got punished for walking inside the school with my boots on (they overlooked the trail of blood leading in)!

Also lots of stamping on balls with studded boots and stuff like that.

tough school, tough game, played a lot in UK schools.
