Default Chicago area 15-30 stud/8

If anyone's interested, Harrahs in East Chicago will probably be having a 15-30 stud hi-lo game tomorrow (6/14) starting at 1pm (CST). They usually only have stud hi-lo at $2-10 or part of a HOSE game...number for the poker room is 219-378-3558. Don't ask me for details, I don't play 8 or better, I'm just posting this for general info.

PS if this is the wrong forum for this type of info, please PM me so I know..

I wish I had read this sooner. That sounds like a good game.
What do they normally spread?
They have $20-40 Hold 'em everyday. $10-20 Hold 'em also runs everyday. That game has been popular lately. I've seen 2-3 $10-20's on a Monday (which is a slow day. The $20-40 doesn't kick off until 7pm on Mondays). I wish more of those $10-20 fish would move up to $20-40. They also spread $5-10 hold 'em. (I don't think it's beatable with the $6 rake ($5 rake & $1 bad beat jackpot). $1-5 stud and $5-10 Omaha are usually spread. On the weekends, there's usually a HOSE game. There used to be $50-100 Hose every weekend, but lately it's been $40-80, or more often $30-60. $30-60 Omaha 8/better & stud 8/better is spread often during the weekdays, usually starting around 9pm or so.
Pot Limit Omaha (I forget the blind structure) is played every Monday and Tuesday. BTW, the $30-60 high low games charges a $7 collection every half hour. The $30-60 Hose charges $8/half hour. In my opinion, that's brutal. Many of the dealers are terrible at the Harrah's. Omaha is slow enough ,but add the slow dealers (and the fact that many of them can't read the Omaha hands properly), and you get very few hands. The collection charge is almost as much as California's hold 'em collection, and you don't get much for it here. You get $1/hr in comp money.

The $10-20 is probably softest on the weekends. It is soft everyday . It's your typical loose passive game, most of the time. You'll get a ton of limpers preflop.

rhw, I haven't been to Harrah's 10-20 in a long time but I do agree with your assement on the weekends. Much better. But as for the weekdays, loose/passive?. That place was a rockgarden for 10-20 and 20-40 game was the soft game. Did it do a flip flop. I've been out of the loop for a while there. Please let me know.

Default is there any mass transit way to get there?

I looked at the site and it's useless. I'll be visiting friends so I won't have a car most of the time.

The Harrah's runs a shuttle between downtown Chicago and the Harrah's. Also, I think there's another bus that goes to Skokie. You can use mass transit to get to the bus pickup point and then take the free shuttle to the Harrah's. A friend in college used to do that before he got a car.
