you want to be in Pot/No Limit, small stakes.

Looks like you ran into trip 10s on the river. If so, your fold is correct. At higher stakes, you could worry about whether you bet the flop just right or not. At tiny stakes, it's pointless to look for the "best" way to protect a hand. There is none.
