Irritating QQ hand
Playing at UB, 6 handed table relevant stacks included. Villan is short stack and somewhat new to table, has won the last two pots in a row.
HERO is at seat 1 with $139.10. Villan is at seat 4 with $46.35. Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Folded to hero, raises to 3.5, folded to Villan (sb) calls, everyone else folds Flop (board: 8h Jh 6d): ($7.50) Villan Checks, Hero bets $7.50. Villan calls. Turn (board: 8h Jh 6d 3h)(21.40): Villan checks. donk1221 checks. River (board: 8h Jh 6d 3h Kc)(21.40): villan goes all in for remaining 30+, hero folds, I think I blew it by not betting the turn, it seems like a waste to pot the turn because then I become committed if he goes all in. How much should I bet here (if I should bet at all). River seemed like a standard fold after misplaying the turn. |

I think your play is fine. they do have the flush sometimes you know.

Re: Irritating QQ hand
I think I would bet the turn about $10-15. But they way you played it wasn't bad, otherwise.

Re: Irritating QQ hand
you hit the nail on the head. if you bet the turn and he checkraises, you can't fold.
personally, I usually don't see too many people who pushes a J on the river there based just on the fact that you checked the turn. I think this board in general gives too much credit to villains picking up on weakness. most likely river push was frustration bet at missing the turn checkraise. |
