Cardrooms near Seattle airport

I take it this was 4-8 or lower? This can be common in most smaller rooms. Wait 'til they play this way blind. What would be shady is the guy with 82os playing and jamming to the river, then folding for 1 bet.

Props and friends/family doesn't always mean much. I used to play in a room just like this. (sonny's in Fed way) Easy, you play like it's a maniac game.

I know plenty of people with casino experience who don't understand poker but think they do. Including dealers and floor people. Some thought the 3-6 table over last x-mas at the 2+2 meeting were cheating. I actually took the time to talk to the dealer about it and let them know what was happening. It took awhile to finally smooth it over a bit. Which is common when you see an overaggressive, multi-maniacal table.

The games you watch out for are the hand held games. Which are dying out, for the most part.

Because he is a good player who is not retarded that looks at 82off then raises his friend with callers in between them then he quietly goes away on the flop. Its one thing if he were a maniac and thats what i thought at first, but when i started paying attention he would only pull those crazy raises when he was trapping people.

Its not the fact that they are props and play with their family its when they trap people preflop, start a raising war between eachother on the flop then when everyone gets out they check down.

I know what your talking about there. Ive had people complain that me and a few friends were being to friendly at the table. Im sure to a fish who is losing it looks like collusion or something b/c we all knew eachother. Im apt enough to tell the difference though.

All things aside that game was pretty good. It was 4/8 full kill with overs. I would just not sit in between the 3-4 guys that i thought did that (they were either dealers or props there too) and im not foolish enough to call raises with marginal hands with people left to act behind me. I heard that it just got shut down though.

In theory the card room at tulalip should be great, in practice it is my least favorite place to play in the area.
Not even close to a 40 mile ride.

This is a little bit off topic, but speaking of shady. I saw on the washington state gambling commision website that the hideaway in shoreline has applied for a gambling license again. Anyone know what is going on with that?

Compact cars on priceline can be commonly had for $10. $15 for 'mid-size'.

I know the Seattle locals hate Tulalip for some reason. For me the location is pretty convienient since Dad lives on South Whidbey.

But compared to the hell that is called Foxwoods - that cardroom is heaven. Yummy sandwiches at the table and soft 10/20 tables. Things are all relative, I suppose.

Collaborators are a problem at many cardrooms. Fortunately most are bad poker players.

Ive talked to alot of people that dont like Tulalip for some reason. I prefer to play at the Drift on Inn but thats too far away from the airport.

The Tulalip room is the worst setup and worst run room I have played in (not a long list, but still...). The dealers are overworked and thus surly, the board is situated in such a way that it is physically impossible to get more than 2 people close enough to talk to the brush, and the room manager seems overwhelmed and unsure when a floor decision is needed.

Been awhile since I have been up there though- maybe it has changed?

No, it hasn't. Since i'm not a regular i also seem to get ignored for 10 minutes any time i want to get my name on the board. I love the fact that it is non-smoking, and the chairs are great, but i can't stand how poorly it is run.

I've played in the following rooms and never had a problem with cheats:

Parkers
Lils
Golden Nugget
Silver dollar renton
Muck
Tulalip

Picking tulalip because of location can make sense, picking it because it is non-smoking can make sense, picking it because you like horrible floor staff can make sense (i guess), but picking it because of 'fewer cheats' is just nonsense.

I think it has probably changed. I played there twice back in April. Saturday night they had a lot of games going, and yet the floor went to the cage for me. The following Wednesday there was a smaller crowd with a list - they gave me a beeper so I could step out for a bite. Both nights the dealers were pleasant and friendly. Plenty of tourists who think K4 off is a great hand to play in EP.

I've never had a better experience in a cardroom. (In terms of service, of course.) Much better than River Rock, IMO.
